Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup 2 sticks salted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar or sprinkles for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Cream Cheese

  • Using a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and cream cheese on medium speed until well combined, about 1 minute. Add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

  • Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Scrape down the bowl and give the dough a final stir with a rubber spatula to ensure there are no visible traces of flour.

Scoop and Bake

  • Using a 1 ½-tablespoon cookie scoop, portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Bake one sheet at a time, rotating halfway through, until the cookies are just set on top and slightly golden on the bottom, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Cool and Dust

  • Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and let them cool completely. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
